I wanted to enjoy this show SOOOO BAD! I LOVED playing this game as a kid, but the excitement is just not there. The Announcer is painfully punny and makes terrible jokes and comments about the contestants. While the sinking steps add a small amount of pressure to the non-existent clock, it doesn’t add much if any urgency. But the commentary by the announcer is like nails on a chalkboard (maybe it’s not him, just the script? Maybe not...) He gets overly excited about a contestant getting splashed, and we’re forced to watch multiple replays to overly dramatic music. It seems like he’s REALLY trying to get us excited about something that’s REALLY NOT exciting. It was a splash... chill. And some of the comments about the contestants are rude and bordering on sexist. We gave it 3 episodes and just can’t. Good try, Netflix!
