I had no idea it would be a musical, therefore I was disappointed. As a 12 year old, I was able to see the original at the movie theatres, that was my 1st time in a movie theatre, so that movie is near and dear to me. The cast of the "remake" understood their assignment and gave what they gave. But I was looking for more. Had I known it was a musical, I would have either waited for it to come on TV or at least had different expectations going into the theatres.
