This series got me in touch with my feelings. Three main concepts were touched within the storyline: youth, friendship, & deep yet fleeting love. The ‘firsts’ which made your heart race, the friends that made your fire burn bright, the the slow fade of naivety.
The series also touched important topics surrounding family, mental health, and women empowerment without over-dramatizing it or making it unrealistic. The chemistry between the actors were sublime. Enjoyed every laugh and tear while watching this. Also what I appreciate the most is that the series did a great job at portraying what ‘growing up’ and ‘growing apart’ feels like - growing pains and lessons to learn from. I was genuinely proud of each character achieving their dreams because they’ve gone through so much while pursuing it. Great character development.
Although, I think the ending could have been ended better, yet overall I understand that the writers were going for a realistic ending; where sometimes, there are things left unsaid and emotions left unraveled. Growing up is to learn to accept pain as you go, be at peace with loss, giving apologies & saying what you feel out loud, and to make the harder decisions welcoming the consequences with open arms.
Also the series could have gone a bit deeper at peeling each character better or explored each storyline further. I think it would give the viewers some kind of satisfaction. But maybe, just maybe, the series wanted to teach us that sometimes, you don’t get the satisfying ending you desire. That sometimes, things are also left unsaid through the screen and leaves you room to ponder & make your own stories instead.
