I loved the movie. As a sociologist and being in the criminal justice system this movie makes sense as a man who tries to exist as normal, gets driven to madness/success. This appeals to liking the Joker because lots of people appeal to be the Joker once he is humanized in the plot. The writers were genius to do this, I believe, because Heath Ledger was such an iconic Joker, this version makes sense to people living in society today. Makes sense to why police have police in theaters, this resonates in our culture currently.
