I. Love. This. Game. The devs really went all-out to make a new TMNT game that captured all the nostalgia and addictive gameplay of the arcade games, but without the quarter-munching difficulty. I also like that they went with the aesthetics of the classic 1987 cartoon series, in keeping with the classic arcade games. The levels are very well-designed and have “totally radical” songs to accompany them (Panic in the Sky, I’m looking at you), and we get all of the most recognizable villains, such as fan-favorite bumbling duo Bebop and Rocksteady, the Rat King, Metalhead, Slash, etc. as bosses. Another thing I like is that the Turtles themselves don’t have generally copy-pasted animations like in the arcade games; each Turtle has unique animations that make them stand out, and capture their different personalities. Adding April, Master Splinter, and Casey Jones as playable characters was a nice touch too. Radical job, dudes! COWABUNGA!
