Game sucked bro, but it was pretty so I guess it has that going for it

Such a joy to play for so many reasons. For me personally the art style makes up such a huge part of RPG horror games and this exceeded my expectations. The mix of pencil sketches and pixelated art blend so well into these fantastical worlds you get to explore. You’re left with this feeling of childlike innocence, being exposed to you through bright colours, fun character designs and beautiful music. Only to be ripped away from you and instead be replaced with gut wrenching and suspenseful gameplay. So well done. The characters and their individual stories were beautifully written and I fell in love with each and everyone of them. Now for the horror, it was wonderfully implemented in the game. Not relying on purely jump scares but the tension and build up to the more horrific events, Delving into concepts of self preservation and decaying mental health, it left you with such a twisted feeling in the pit of your stomach. I have been around since the trailer for the game first came up 6 years ago in my recommended, my expectations were high and for good reasons! So much to do, so much love and care has been put into this game and for £15.99 is absolutely worth the purchase.

I do really love this game, one of the switches best releases, the graphics are really gorgeous and the changes are unlike any animal crossing title has ever had! And I appreciate those aspects, gives the game a new feel and it's wonderful to see the game evolve. Having said all this I do feel the game has lost a little bit of its charm that makes the game "animal crossing". It has become more of a decorative island game more than anything else. The quirkyness, vague story line and interesting characters are washed out and the main focus is on decorating, for me it takes the fun out of interactions with my villagers and the simple things like fishing. The main problem I have is the music, it's incredibly loud and it's less of a subtle background noise but instead a constant in your face noise and I usually have to have the sound off to enjoy myself. Not only is the noise rather disappointing but the songs themselves. Where's the kid like lullaby and childish toylike sounds, where's the change and differentiation. Please Don't twist my words I think it is wonderful music but it's not animal crossing music.
