I didnt believe this was Pokémon. Best in everything the artsyle, battles, pokémon introduced, story. Concept of Mega Evolutions. Ash turned almost matured, he didnt seemed to be like a 10 year old and became a badass trainer with good qualities. Ash's travel companions were great too. Clemont whose character developed across the series and played great role, Bonnie despite being a small maybe 7 year old girl(not sure, writers never mentioned their age which make s it good too) played a major role and last but not the least SERENA who has the best character development in the series, her role was great, unlike other Ash's female companions she was different in a very good way and ofc how can one talk of her without mentioning her crush on Ash but Ash was dense and couldn't understand that made it cute tbh(*Spoiler* He did understand later after the escalator scene). Ash's Greninja having unique battle bond ability which makes it interesting maybe it won best pokemon of 2020 cuz of that. In my opinion it is the best season, it made me fall in love with pokemon and also remvoed the feeling that it was a kids show and a master piece made by the team.
