As an Afghanistan veteran who has helped an interpreter resettle to the US I appreciate the message this film attempts to convey. The sense of maddening betrayal John feels by his (my, our?) government that made promises of security to Afghans who gave their all to the US mission is conveyed, as is the bureaucratic morass John found himself in as he tried to advocate on behalf of his terp. His outrage at an impenetrable USCIS is communicated well. However the film is a far fetched fantasy, with a made for Hollywood happy ending that brings the US Air Force to the rescue in a finale that is incredulous. If the film can get you as a US citizen to call your Congress person, express your disgust, and demand action on behalf of Afghan Allies still seeking refugee within US borders then I say watch it.
