I'm five starring this sweet book because I couldn't put it down. Love the ending. Kazuo does not disappoint. Read it and weep - not for our selfish genes but for the rising infancy of AI told with affection and a cutting pen via Klara's narrative. Tops 🐑🐑🐑🐑

Superb read if a bit convoluted. It's all about a crazy little fecker called Francie who can't deal with the dire (and they are excessively so) things that life often throws at adolescent youngsters. It's very brutal re human to pretty much everything violence so be prepared. The only criticism l can make is that it's overwhelmingly 'l' centered re Francie so that the reader is left to glean and judge the other characters too much for themselves (thereby tainting the reader's perception of anything outside of Francie). That said it's a cracking read especially if your roots are part Irish as a re mine!
