This book is extremely dull and I fell asleep multiple times while attempting to read this book, reading this book as part of a research task was literal hell for me as I have wasted countless minutes of my life on this absolute monstrosity. Christopher is extremely insufferable and annoying even at the start of the book with the other characters having no personality. You would rage at Christopher for his lack sense for anything around him and his egotistical and selfish behaviour throughout the book like insisting to go back to take his stupid maths test without even thinking about what is going on with his parents and the conflict around them. This is an example of Christopher's dense and frustrating personality. Another example is when he ditches his father just because his father admits to killing wellington and puts himself in serious danger without thinking of other people who might be worried about him. Although Mark Haddon uses Christopher's autism as an excuse for every little thing he is doing wrong, I feel that Mark Haddon's depiction of Christopher's autism is severely wrong and he should do more research. Would give 0 stars if that was an option and do not read this book.
