Despite the fact that I truly enjoyed this novel, I feel any future pieces of work by Stephen King may be a hesitant purchase. I’ve been reading his books for over 35 years and sadly this book angered me. An author. Especially one of fiction is writing to entertain. To capture his audience and transport them out of their own reality. A form of escape from a world that is just not kind. What Mr King did through his characters was push his own political/biased beliefs onto his readers. Some readers may agree with his slanted views and opinions and may not have had the same negative emotional reaction. Some readers may have felt insulted. Dismissed. Angry. While Mr King freely admits to integrating his own perception as well as his personal political beliefs of a very dark time in our history into this fictitious novel, he somehow forgot that readers of fiction enjoy it because it IS FICTION and did not allow the reader to escape his/her own reality… even if it is just for a while. I hope I don’t give up on him. He’s always been my favorite author. Wendy Bennett
