Honestly can’t say anything bad about this album.
It seems like critics want to tear it apart but all they have to say are comments about Eminem himself. They don’t actually listen to the music he is creating. They arnt listening to the messages or meanings and are simply trying to throw it aside as “just another attempt at being Shady”.
Do these critics (like Pitch Fork) know that music is an expression of the artist? Probably not. I doubt they even know how to create music. Eminem and his production team are masters at their craft. It’s honed in and tight. The beats are hard hitting and saturated. The concept flow of the album and its story telling is crisp and exactly what we can expect from Em.
It’s a very good album and before we pick apart the artist behind the music, let’s just remember that expression of self through art and music are what separates us from the soulless husks that are these critics that, honestly, know less about music than they do about creating it.
If you liked The Eminem Show you will love The Death Of Slim Shady.
