I read the book after watching “Hotel Portofino” on Public tv. Enjoyed both. Found the book slow-moving, of course, since I’d already met the characters and suffered their tribulations on tv. Nevertheless, reading the text enriched my knowledge of characters’ back stories and helped me better soak in the beautiful setting. I’m glad I did both. ‘I’m hungry for next season.
