Daisy Smith – Google

I watched six episodes but can’t take any more of this garbage series. The main character does unbelievably stupid stuff and the other characters are not much better at being credible. The background music is repetitive and annoying and the whole attempt at dark and sinister ambience is so obvious it’s sad. I no longer believe that this show is likely to get any better so I give up. What a waste of time.

This is a story about the surprising suddenness of the impact that climate change brings to a not too distant future. It is set in a Florida that has become uninhabitable due to extreme heat, storms and the ocean creeping over the land until the federal government finally evacuates the remaining population and declares it closed. The main character is a girl who grows into a young woman surviving in these inhospitable conditions after everyone close to her has succumbed to catastrophe, old age or an inability to stay in such a sadly changed paradise. The prose is quite good and each character is distinct and well developed. I couldn't put it down!
