A frustrating read. I was hoping for history and human interest (and there is some of each, but too little), and instead got a lot of the author’s own blend of eco-philosophy and his narrative about the immorality of the fossil fuel economy. Everyone is entitled to their perspective, and Vaillant is a good writer, but I was hoping for something different.
