(4.5 Stars) Tim Blake Nelson’s magnum opus. Stephen Dorff is also at the top of his game. Takes small pieces from Unforgiven, Slow West and even The Proposition to create a gritty unnerving father/son western mystery thriller with some secrets. Best to go into this film cold, without researching the plot or watching the overly-revealing-story trailer, in order to be rewarded the most as a viewer. A beautiful and hauntingly crafted soundtrack helps to build this story into a solid film all around.
