This series was so good!
A lesson I most definitely learned is that ‘Grace’ reveals, uncovers, and at the same time conceals. Grace brings healing because it perseveres to find truth although a painful and bitter process brings healing. Much like child labor and at the end of it there is nothing but joy, happiness, peace, and the developments that come with it. Just like a child, something new.
I really enjoyed this, I studied literature in high school and the part when “Eternal Faith Ministries” sprung up as a name for the new church, struck some chords for me. Notice how the serie started with the death of faith? The memory of it and all, and towards the end Bishop talks on how he strayed away. Faith as a character was portrayed so pure and genuine, getting towards the end and as that ministry name came up it was a great wrap up for me as a literary student. As a believer, I know and understand salvation is by grace through faith. Eph 2:8-9, watching this i somehow wrap this up. There was redemption for the Greenleafs, redemption and restoration and that encapsulates Gods salvation for all mankind regardless of your background. Grace came and restored it all. I learnt that faiths death resulted in the appearance of Grace. Grace never really left in the end (we don’t know if she is gone completely) but what I could really pick in it all is that Grace achieves what it’s meant to, and faith which becomes ever present as a result has grace in abundance of it. Really hope this makes sense.
I really enjoyed this and Oprah did a wonderful job. Can’t wait to see what she has for us in “The color Purple”.
