There is a glaring error in stating one of the main female character's condition of loss of taste as anosmia. Anosmia refers to lasting loss of smell. The correct word to use should be ageusia which refers to the loss of taste. There is a Straits Times article today 12 Oct 2020 ('Long Covid' makes the pandemic even scarier)that mentions this
