Wow, got your attention with 1 star. Musically, artistically, theatrically = 5 stars, but WHA? is Della doing. Is she angry because like so many of her brothers and sisters, she's been forced to sing the white songbook for her bread and butter, and solely the for pleasure of those with the ways and means . . . is it a challenge to that status quo, perhaps even a satire with massively pounding beats that can be heard back to the west coast (no not Calif.) , a call to arms, a call to take it back? The lyrics are ground up and spit back out atcha. Every once in a while Della's vocal chords loosen, just a hint of all that flava you be missing.
