Laden with painfully mellow dramatic dialogue and tears, predictably punctuated by gratuitous high speed action scenes that leave one unsatisfied, all makes Discovery feel quite cheesy and formulaic. Discovery’s producers need to look to brilliantly written shows like Picard for much needed guidance.
