Amazing production values but nothing new in the story. They should have spent more on the script and less on the effects. The show also has an issue with perpetually jumping time lines, London 8 years ago, somewhere else 30 years ago, Paris 6 months ago etc etc this makes the storyline convoluted and annoying to follow. The show tries to give the characters depth but they still feel shallow. Lesley Manville great, Stanley Tucci, being Stanley Tucci. Chopra and Madden try hard but let down by , at times, a very silly script. Shame, could have been very good

Lazy, with all the charm of a 1970s slasher video nasty. I loved the tv series but this was astonishingly stupid and totally lacked the cleverness of the tv series and its characters. The plot can be unpicked in the first 20 minutes and the rest is entirely predictable. I was so looking forward to this movie and I was so disappointed. I’m amazed at the high praise it’s receiving in these reviews. Watch it if you want but don’t say you weren’t warned.

Wow, this had so much potential, great cast, really like Luke Evans but good heavens it’s sooooo slow. Episodes 6,7 are absolute torture of wasted time. I got to the stage where I didn’t care about any of the characters or what happened to them. Also the sound is awful, the conversations at time are incomprehensible because you just can’t hear what they are saying. It’s a real shame. First 4 episodes are great but the rest is a real slog.
