I started watching Eric last night and got totally hooked. The pace is set to the 80s when life wasn’t as fast as today. There are certain portions that are disturbing and difficult to watch but the grim depiction of society is well documented in this fictional series. There are a lot of endearing scenes that are heightened only because the cast and crew have done a great job. Though I watched it in one sitting I wouldn’t recommend that. Take a break as there are a lot issues woven into the series and it can get a little hard hitting and heavy. The series itself is slow paced and there are certain parts that one might be tempted to fast forward but hold on. It is good. If there’s anything that irked me, it is that the sub plots sometimes seem to get in the way of the main story, and draw attention away from the main characters. Brilliant performance from Benedict Cumberbatch as always but the rest of the crew is good too.
