I absolutely loved this movie. Being a Chicago native the original movie terrified me as a kid, I went into this remake thinking that it wouldn’t do the original justice, but I was proven wrong. At 35 years old I still dare not say his name. I also loved the message about gentrification in the urban communities in Chicago, police brutality and the white perception of black culture. I’m sure gentrification isn’t unique to Chicago but I can only testify about what I’ve witnessed with my own eyes. Overall great movie wasn’t disappointed.
