Intense movie that uses depictions of energy to convey Oppenheimer' brilliant, but tortured intellect. Uses both color and black & white scenes to keep the different time periods coherent as the story unfolds between his college years, atomic energy/bomb years, and years later when he was in front of a review panel.
The graphic nudity/sex scenes (and there are several) conveyed him as a man conflicted between the 2 women in his life and their affect on him within his profession. Many reviews did not understand why this was needed and why the movie was 3 hours long, but the human side of relationships is relevant to grasp the man behind the mind.
If you follow closely, you will get a better understanding of a complicated life. Know your history as some important historical figures will be named.
Not a movie for teenagers.
