THINKING about the process of thinking is perplexing but writer carries it out skillfully and the subtle details of "mind shortcuts" is amazing.

i chose to read it because of its title. I was always confused about the conflict b/w faith an reason and this books explains all of that while discussing the course of history at the heart of Islam. Iran, Egypt and turkey had very successful phases of modernizing themselves but quickly crippled because of the invention of militant Islam. since then the word modern became an antonym to Islam.

I m reading the book and haven't finished yet but I find it so relatable. Eleanor's thinking style is so like me and I can clearly see why she is making the decisions she did.
