Game is a HUGE let down. There are so many mechanics in it that I hate and the story and characters are just lazy copies of things from Diamond and Pearl. Just go play Diamond and Pearl. The only plus sides would be the Open Areas, the fact you dont have to deal with random encounters.. and the Dex is decent. Missing a few of my favorites, but still, it is a decent dex. It's design and atmosphere are good, sound is well done, music is decent. However, I think Sword and Shield are better entries. I really wanted to like this game, but after completing the main story and getting credits I found myself really starting to hate the game. First off, sometimes your foes pokemon can attack 2-3 times PER THEIR TURN. I HATED THIS. You think you are going to win, and then they combo you dead. It SUCKS. Worst Game Mechanic Ever. That was the biggest offender, in my opinion. Next worst part was the Lazy Design and the Frenzied "Noble" pokemon. After the 2nd "Quelled" beast... they just get all BS. AND THE FINAL FIGHT ISNT EVEN A FIGHT, It is like Dark Souls Dodging and throwing those stupid little bags at whatever Diamond or Pearl legendary you get after deciding to side with Diamond or Pearl Clan... Final Fight is Anti-Climactic as F&$%. By lazy design, this is also the Next worst part... is that it just feels like Diamond and Pearl but Japanese. They couldve made a whole new game, but everything is just characters, models, the dex.. and location of Diamond and Pearl. I really hope Frenzied Pokemon and this dumb mechanic of getting to attack ONCE while the AI foe attacks me 2 to 3 times, not to mention the crummy 1 v 3 fight... and a couple of 1v2 fights where you have ONE and your opponent has 2 or 3 pokemon... Super Unfair, Super Unfun. I would hate to see those ruin something like Violet and Scarlet Versions coming later this year. Now, Not focusing on those BS things that basically ruined my time in the game. Especially some of those "Boss FIghts" where all you do is roll around to avoid getting hit, the Mechanic ripped straight from Dark Souls... And then getting combo'd or watching an AI pokemon us Recover 20 times during the fight... ... eh... the game is still fairly enjoyable. Lack of Clothing... I was expecting some Female Kimonos or even other Asian Styled Dresses or Skirts.. it is all Pants and Shorts and very Masculine for picking a female trainer, some lack of Originality... but there are parts that are still enjoyable, lots of parts. However, I find this to be a poor installment, BUT with great Ideas, like the Open Area, Catching without having to Fight, those are ALL great. BUT, as a Pokemon fan since Gen2... I couldnt enjoy this as much as I enjoyed Sword and Shield... hence my Low Rating. It had potential... but as of now, I cannot say that I have been fully enjoying it.
