I was looking forward to a little nostalgia from reading the series as a girl and even as an adult. I was looking forward to watching this with my young daughter. I was very disappointed that the creators took a wholesome book series and modernized it to the point that they essentially ruined what is Nancy Drew and her legacy, what the author created, and the fun wholesome quality that is the book series. The creators took the body of this elementary book series and changed what it was. Nancy Drew has an attitude, she and Ned (who is an ex-con) are broken up, her and her father's relationship is strained and, her father is arrested on charges of murder, and she isn't best friends with Bess (who is new from out of town) or George who has an alcoholic mother who has different fathers for each of her siblings. Not the series I grew up with, at all.
