My hands-down favorite Star Trek film (especially the Director's Edition, which finally completes the movie they did not have time to finish in 1979), is scoffed at by many. But for me, the movie has a true sci-fi feel, great character moments, and has the eerie atmosphere I loved most about early Star Trek (The Corbomite Maneuver, Charlie X, The Man Trap, Balance of Terror, etc.). I watched this movie for about the 50th time with my two best friends and could not take my eyes off it to get up and get another drink but finally decided to ask my friends whether we could pause it. I turned around, and both were fast asleep. To each their own. I believe I've seen this movie more than any other, and enjoy it every time.
