So much promise, ultimately let down by the twist: the reveal of which makes absolutely zero narrative sense to me. Was it unexpected? Absolutely! But I'd love the opportunity to talk to the writer/director and ask him directly what he was hoping to achieve, and to explain how the reveal could even have happened? Elements of Interstellar, and Inception, show the director was more focused on style over substance (and story). The cast act well, the cinematography is stellar, and the feel of the film is suited to setting up the story... then the legs fall off in a spectacular mess of stylistic choices in an attempt to drive home a twist that has no hope of landing, given the reveal. Bitterly disappointing, and a huge let down after the emotional build up.
