This would've been nice as a TV show, too! If you find music videos imbedded in Indian films cringey, just look away and enjoy the music. I got emotionally invested in the main characters, the supporting characters as well. Sure it has drama, but I remember a LOT of aunties from my own culture acting like the moms in this film. In the end, "they are just being mothers", and we need to have open conversations about how we can respect our tradition but also moving forward with more interracial relationships and friendships. I hope there are more movies like this to come.
