Ford v Ferrari is a fast-paced racing movie that has a unique feature for the genre: a plot. Yes, it features fast cars but Matt Damon and Christian Bale prove that is possible to focus on human relationships in a movie about auto racing. In fact, this movie is at least as much about the friendship between Shelby and Miles as it is about the attempt by Ford to unseat Ferrari at LeMans. All in all, Ford v Ferrari is one racing movie anyone can enjoy. I know I did.

Ad Astra is not really a science fiction movie. There is very little science and what's there is poor . It is fiction that happens to be set in space. I suppose if you ignore the problems with gravity on the Moon and Mars there is a case to be made that this movie is about human relationships rather than a space thriller. Brad Pitt does an admirable job of acting in spite of the paucity and predictability of plot.
