To anyone that feel or think the storyline is redundant or negatively depicted for modern day society. You're entitled to your opinion however, I find it very difficult to access the pain of someone especially when I haven't personally experienced what they're experiencing. It's very upsetting to have someone say, "get over it" when they haven't had the same obstacles both past and present to overcome. Let's not forget that our Black pioneers championed for the right to be treated civilized. The thought of equality wasn't an option and still isn't. As a rural South Georgia native born in the 70's this movie described my childhood and young adulthood. Sure there's highlights in the book that would've enhanced our emotions but the point was to bring awareness to a situation that occurred andunfortunately still occurs in America and especially in the deep south... A must see movie...
