So recently (or just yesterday) I heard that there was a movie based on Relic's Company of Heroes game. Ignoring any receptions and reviews I decided to take a peak at what the movie offers, I might enjoy it but likely not since it's a movie based around a video game and that generally does not receives that much positive results... I watched a couple of minutes of the action in the movie and I was completely done with the movie.
It's a generic World War 2 movie based on the Western Front, the entire plot is generic, the characters are generic (although I never completed the movie so I don't know if the characters developed throughout the movie or not at all) and the whole entire movie felt like any other hollywood-based war movie - in that being hero american soldiers fight against evil german soldiers doing evil things. I really don't like it when video games and movies, or media altogether go in this direction because it represents every german soldier as inherently evil and inhumane beings, which they're not and it pains me to say that because yes, I know their ideals can be seen as inhumane, or morally wrong. However people need to realize that they are human beings, with human minds that makes decisions any human would do. I never completed this movie, nor have the intention to finish it as it is just hurtful to continue watching, I want to voice my opinion and thoughts of the movie.
