Don't listen to the negative reviews, and let me tell you why.
Firstly, you should not be comparing this game to EA Skate or Tony Hawk's whatsoever. From the start of the development these guys went in with a completely different approach.
Some people complain about the movement being transferred to the triggers instead of the left analogue stick, which I say good riddance to. Once you are accustomed to this, you can seriously pull off some steezy and very customizable looking tricks. Having control over both feet on the board and the amount of pressure you have on the flicks will determine the outcome. You want a fast tre or a slow sailing tre? You can have both. Want to do a laser heel and catch the front foot and steeze out? You can do that.
This game has the mechanics EA Skate was missing.
Secondly, if you're going to buy it, I recommend PC. This will make your entire user experience a tonne better than PS4.
Play it yourself, determine how YOU feel about it, not the negative viewers with bias toward old games.
