I've seen the stage version with Carol Channing several times. Plus the all Black version with Pearl Bailey several times. Plus other "Dollys" on stage in Chi town. Nothing beats the lushness and lavishness of the film version. A full orchestra will always sound better than the theatre "pit band". And fresh costumes and sets easily beat the shop worn ones in stage productions.
