The album that gets you through the day. The songs are deep, personal yet colorful. When you are an artist of RAYE’s caliber, you’ll eventually become an icon. There’s just too much talent to ignore. She is mature and the songs cut deep. There’s rawness and wit, slickness embedded in truth and life experience.
Body Dysmorfia and Ice Cream Man aren’t easy songs to listen, and they push you to feel, think and take action. I love an artist with something to say and this album delivers.
One review said the album misses a theme or storyline but I think they don’t really know what’s to be a young woman with big dreams and enormous ambition. It’s a beautiful, messy, encaptivating, all-over-the-place experience. To me that’s the clear storyline, which I can easily vibe with.
