Docu-series that explores the unique, bizarre, and rare conditions and how those afflicted seek treatment, while navigating medical scrutiny, social stigmas, and interpersonal relationships. Insightful. Heartbreaking. Bittersweet. Informative. This series follows several personal narratives as they cope with chronic conditions. Lightly recommended for those who are interested in medical science, technology, and documentary style media. This Docu-series is a decent starting point, but it does leave out a lot of medical research and creates a doubtful shadow over the cast's conditions. Much of what was filmed was scrapped in favor of weaving an "enticing' story rather than highlighting the true nature of these conditions afflicting millions worldwide. The cast was willingly unpaid to help spread accurate and personal information about these conditions, and many have spoken out since it's release. Many are dissatisfied with the final product, as it stigmatizes them as hypochondriacs. All cast members underwent psychological evaluations before participating, and were deemed completely sound of mind.
