As a great enthusiast of the Space Race I was looking forward to this new series.
Unfortunately, the excellent cast and big budget were severely let down by the unimaginative plot and the rather dire script.
The loss of the crew in episode 1 was almost a carbon copy of the Challenger disaster, even the event occurred immediately after the "Go for Throttle Up" command and involved the rocket boosters.
There are a million ways that a launch can go catastrophically wrong so the scriptwriters could have used some imagination.
When episode one ended we all thought that it could only get better but sadly, episode 2 was like watching paint dry. I for one won't be wasting any time on episode 3.
Instead, I will once again put on my BluRay of the brilliant Matt Damon as The Martian. Now that is a superb example of how a space epic should be made.
