Totally mind-blowing, the cast and plot really captures the essence of each marriage and affair.
I'm genuinely surprised at the negative reviews. Some say that the drama is backward and that women should not be seen enduring affairs especially when they have great jobs etc. What these people failed to see is the psychological, cultural and societal aspects of the wives' dilemmas. DJ wife is obviously narcissistic and could not stand the fact that somebody has usurped her magical life of happiness on paper. Writer wife's life is most pitiful, having married a poor professor against her parents' wishes, lowering her standards to what was provided by her husband and then having him gaslight and cheat on her. PD wife is seemingly most lucky until she realizes that she was living in a bubble. The inability to let go is a manifestation of ego, stability, revenge, shock, not to mention the underlying love that each wife has for her husband despite the affair, and is the brilliance presented by Phoebe that is so worth the watch.
It's not a backward drama, considering that K-dramas are usually very reserved - we usually don't see a kiss until episode 10! It is very difficult to portray affairs in a light that is anything but a bad one in k-drama, and just showing the other side has already generated so many negative comments. Not to mention that most k-dramas have the "karma will bite you" theme for doing anything unmoral.
I did not like the three actor swaps in Season 3 at all, since I held emotional ties with the original actors, who were so excellent in the previous seasons. The story did help make up for it, but becomes more twisted, especially the plot twists in season 3 and cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what happens next. Waiting forever for season 4 and hope to the gods that it won't be discontinued.
