I was so excited to watch this one in theatre's because it's about Bengaluru and co-written by Kanan Gill. However, it felt like a well written story but poorly executed.
First of all, the flow of the movie feels very halted and there's no connection to a lot of elements. Like why did the Elder son did not make a comeback? Elder sister who got married and never had a single scene! Even the ones who stayed back barely have dialogues or leave an impression that resonates with us (parents/previous generations even), not to forget the below average acting attempt by supporting actors except the father and the mother.
Secondly, the set up feels so artificial, the language/slang references feels 2023ish. There's no real representation of Bengaluru in the 70's or subsequent years, no iconic places are shown. Even the neighbours who gossip feels very made up and not natural. And and and.. why are there barely any jokes??
Lastly, it had so much potential to be an amazing movie. Nonetheless, the story revolves around woman who steps up and become self sufficient in that era which is moving!
