Skip. Skip. Skip. The constant commentary on all of our country’s many ills distract from what could have been an engaging, thoughtful look at an unexpected, complex final chapter of life. The movie seems to want to try to highlight America’s many injustices, but with its blatant perpetuation of racist stereotypes, misogyny, and homophobia, it ends up feeling like a Donald Trump speech brought to life. And that’s not including the awkward, stiff dialogue. Would love to know how the A-list, heavily awarded cast really feels about the finished product. Not the movie needed at the end of 2018. Wish I could get my money back.
