I've read this book a few times. It provides an education in areas of history that are often overlooked by curricula. It gives deep explanations for why certain things are as they are. Whenever I encounter others who've read this book, I view them as smarter people, people who are on a higher level intellectually than people who haven't read this book. I've learned over time that there are other books, by other authors, which contain the main points which this book makes, but none are as concise as this book. Lately when I suggest this book to people, I also suggest that they keep the main things that they learn from it to themselves; this contains challenging information that is tough to get into mature conversations about with people who haven't been exposed to the knowledge.
