This series started off relatively strong, enough to draw me in and want to continue watching additional episodes. At first it was nice due to the pacing and unexpected direction the episodes would take, at least for the first three. Episodes one and two were by far the better of the bunch. Episode three is where the quality seemed to be dropping off and it was all a little downhill from there. Episode four was good if there were more than six episodes to the series. To spend an entire episode on exposition essentially wasn't helpful in driving the story forward. Episode five felt pointless and dragged on. Episode six was a rushed unrealistic mess that made me partially regret watching the series as a whole. I get that this a zombie apocalypse show so suspension of reality to some degree is needed, but I can't buy two people surviving an enormous explosion by hiding under a tarp and drenching themselves in water, or just stumbling away from a grenade going off right in front of your face. It didn't feel like there were really any stakes for the main characters. I didn't fear that they were in danger or would get killed. It was all just a story off connivence. Everything worked out, somehow they get across the country to see their kids, the CRM is reformed magically and all is right with the world. When has the Walking Dead ever ended this way? All that was missing from the last scene was a rainbow and a unicorn to put the final unrealistic and ridiculous exclamation point on the end of this show. To sum up an already too long review, it left me feeling annoyed and disappointed. There was so much wasted potential.
