Great show.
I've always appreciated it's balance. There are some moments that feel "acted", but they do an amazing job of balancing action, watchable realism, and conscientiousness both by example and directly addressing topics.
It's a self-aware police show that is refreshing and isn't afraid to feel. It embraces masculinity while also challenging conventional masculine ideas. It doesn't shy away hard topics associated with police work while also respecting the work for the hard and heroic job that it is. We must be doing something right If shows like this exists, and has six seasons.
