Perfectly encapsulates having a cocktail of anxiety, paranoia and mommy issues. If you have any of these- this movie will hit you like a ton of bricks. Very open to interpretation, I saw the movie back in April during its early release and I’m still thinking up new theories and noticing metaphors and symbolism I didn’t before. The acting was great. I went in knowing SOMEWHAT what the movie was as about and I was still floored. My partner and I were silent for about an hour after the movie ended- speechless. Hereditary WAS my favorite movie. It is now a close second. Beau is Afraid HITS every spectrum of emotion. Asters other films are full of dread- and he executes that perfectly. But Beau moves through so many emotions and executes every single one.

It missed the mark for me. Looked forward to seeing this movie. It was funny at times and but the whole movie I was waiting for the climax that never happened. I’d skip seeing it in theaters and wait til it comes out on streaming.

Really was looking forward to Old. This movie was terrible, if you love Hereditary, Midsommar, Mother! This movie is TRASH. the acting was horrendous. It felt like they were constantly reading off a prompt. It felt so foreign and unnatural. The cinematography was so bad. Everything was pretty bad. Watched til the end- didn’t find any “deeper” meaning in this movie. Waste of my time.
