smart comedy, well directed, acted. It does not give answers beyond pot and alcohol for the woman, cynicism for the man and sadness for the kid. Oh, yes, also offers suicide. Still worth watching because it is true and funny. Right, if we were just animals we would indeed be happy with the material world. The difference for us is that we do need meaning beyond religion. Thank God the series does not give an easy solution for that.

Each frame a work of art. Heavy matter, and yet so watchable, for it's sheer gorgeousness, supreme acting, and, of course, unmistakable mastery of direction.
