I really liked King the Land a for a number of reasons. (Let’s skip the episodes with the Indian guy acting like an Arab - and that's racist).
I thought Yoona was perfectly cast because of her smile (the premise of the show). I found it radiated through the screen. She played this character so well, and I loved seeing her in the uniform and acting as a VVVIP guest hostess. Lee Jun-ho came across as probably one of the coolest, confident, caring characters I’ve seen in a Kdramasl. I like the way he consistently showed up for everyone. I liked some of the cast especially the lead male character's manager. He played the role pitch perfect. A bundle of nerves and constant desire to be loved and seen. The sister was an insecure mess with ice in her veins, but happy that she finally saw a path to happiness with her son. I loved the grandmother, and the actress who played the character. She brought common sense skepticism, infused with love for her granddaughter.
They also packed a lot into the couples journey. I found their relationship very tender and found myself smiling. Every time they were on the screen to the point that my cheeks hurt. I was immersed and committed in their love story. I did find it odd that in episode 15 they decided to bring in a new element with her having a desire to own a small bed-and-breakfast. I don’t know what the writers were thinking there, but that didn’t make any sense. But in the end it ended as I would hope.
