I loved Salem's Lot. I am obsessed with vampire movies, shows, and novels. I have to say that this new Salem's Lot is just awful! The actors were flat. Their performance was lackluster. I kept waiting for the vamp to give me that stomach lurching first glance. It was underwhelming. The actores that played Ben and Susan were like onions on a sandwich. Just pick them off and try not to let it spoil the rest. The young actor playing Marc was really trying to impart feeling into his role, but his delivery was a staccato rapid recital. I love, love vampires and this was dry as sawdust. Did the budget run out before the special effects could do what they do? I got crazy contacts and a Spirit of Halloween mask to represent "the big bad." I feel cheated. I was owed a movie remake and a tribute to Stephen King's masterful mind. I got what felt like a kindergarten recital.
