We went to see Napoleon yesterday. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. My wife and I walked out as the Egypt battled scene was starting. By that point we had figured out that this movie was not really about the historical Napoleon but about some weird sick depiction hyper focused on sex. Felt like a soft porn movie. The movie felt dark and, frankly, perverted. I am a fan of Napoleonic history. I have no problem with realistic battle scenes or even an honest approach to people's flaws. This just felt like a perverted lust fest. It was just all wrong and the actor playing Napoleon....jesus christ....could he have been any worse? Anyway, we walked out. That's how bad it was. I haven't walked out a movie in more than a decade.
