I am not a fan of this iteration of Persuasion. I think the portrayal of Anne is no where close to Austen’s writing and I think it greatly hurts the telling of the story. I think they tried too hard to tap into the success of Bridgerton in modernizing the Regency era and completely ruined a beautiful told love story. I think Netflix should have left this one well enough alone.
